Lauren Sanchez is a partner in Cole Huber’s Ontario office. She specializes in municipal law and currently serves as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Canyon Lake and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Hemet. She previously served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Bernardino and Deputy City Attorney for the City of Riverside, and she provided general counsel services to the Housing Authority of the City of Riverside.

While Lauren assists clients with all aspects of municipal law, her practice primarily centers on housing, real estate, economic development, and planning. She represents public entities in a broad range of real estate transactions, from acquisitions, dispositions, development, and leasing to real estate secured financing. She handles community and economic development projects that involve both entitlement and competitive funding, including funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), California Climate Investments Initiative (cap-and-trade-funded programs), and various emerging state programs related to housing and homelessness.

Lauren has extensive experience structuring affordable housing transactions that leverage various sources of local, federal, and state financing, and she advises on affordable housing policies and programs, as well as housing-related planning issues.
