Tanya specializes in estate planning and probate litigation. As an estate planner, she provides expert guidance to individuals and families in planning for the transfer of real and personal property in the event of death of incapacity, end of life healthcare and financial decisions and business succession. She also establishes conservatorships and guardianships for families caring for aging relatives, adults with special needs and minor children.

As a probate attorney, Tanya oversees the transfer of wealth from one generation to the next as smoothly as possible. She keeps assets out of the probate system whenever possible through the use of Heggstad Petitions. She has protected numerous estates from unfounded will and trust contests and creditors’ claims. She also represents Petitioners seeking their fair share of an estate. She has experience with probate litigation involving minor beneficiaries, wrongful death, undue influence, fraud, paternity issues, falsified documents, contested marriages, and assets outside of the state.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from the University of LaVerne, Tanya attended University of LaVerne College of Law. She received CALI Awards for Lawyering Skills Practicum and Legal Research, the IVAMS ADR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dispute Resolution and was the student coach of the moot court team, all while working full time as a litigation paralegal.

Tanya has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2006 and is admitted to practice before the US District Court – Central District of California.

Tanya frequently hosts educational seminars on the importance of estate planning for all families, not just wealthy ones. She has given over 75 presentations on the importance of estate planning for middle class families. Her expert advice has been cited in the book “Navigating Life’s Transitions: Making the Right Decisions to Secure Your Financial Future”.

In her free time, Tanya enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors with her Siberians huskies and enjoying meals with her family.
