Practice Summary

Tyler Sherman is an attorney with the Roseville office of Cole Huber LLP. Tyler represents public entities and local governments as litigation counsel. His practice centers on litigating on behalf of public agencies and governments in state and federal court on a wide array of matters, from general liability and employment disputes to complex civil rights and land use cases.

Tyler joined the firm with varied experience. Prior to joining the firm, Tyler spent a year clerking for the original founding partner of the firm, the Honorable Judge Dennis M. Cota of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. As a law clerk for Judge Cota, Tyler was responsible for numerous motions, hearings, discovery disputes, and a wide array of other pre-trial matters. From clerking and practicing in federal court, Tyler has developed a deep knowledge and expertise in federal practice and procedure.

Previously, Tyler also served as Deputy Legislative Counsel for the Legislature of Nevada, where he worked on issues related to the judiciary and administration of justice in Nevada. Tyler also clerked for the three judges of the Circuit Court of Rockingham County in Virginia, where is also admitted to the State Bar. Tyler is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted before all California courts and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Central Districts of California.

Tyler graduated from William & Mary Law School, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal and interned for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Tyler was born and raised in Riverside, California. An avid reader, Tyler enjoys spending time reading history and science fiction. Tyler came to love the outdoors later in life, and frequently hikes in California and around the Sierra Nevada. He is a lifelong lover of animals and volunteers in his spare time at animal shelters and rescues. Tyler is the proud owner of two cats.
